David Sharkey is an Irish entrepreneur with more than 30 years’ experience identifying opportunities, assembling complex projects and turning ambitious ideas into large-scale businesses.

He founded, built and led a substantial Central and Eastern European property investment and development business, delivering major projects across multiple countries and economic cycles.

Over the past five years, David has invested in, raised capital for, and closely studied the direct air capture industry, developing a deep understanding of both its potential and the barriers to scale. He founded AIRVANTIX around a simple conviction: the breakthrough in carbon removal will come not from improving one component in isolation, but from rethinking how the entire system works together.
